Your registration does not renew automatically. Renew it every year to keep practising as an attorney. If you miss the deadline, your name will be removed from the register and your registration will lapse.
To maintain your registration as an attorney, you need to pay an annual registration fee and provide proof that you have completed your CPE requirements.
In the 12 months before you renew, complete the required hours of CPE.
The Secretariat will email you a renewal reminder in the last week of May. If you have not received it by 1 June, contact us to check your details are up to date.
Renewal of your registration is due on 1 July each year, regardless of your initial registration date. Submit your renewal through IP Australia's Online Services.
You will receive a confirmation receipt of your payment through your Online Services account. The Secretariat will email you before 31 July to confirm your registration has been renewed.
